Security Personnel Steps in Securing G20 Summit

Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  The Indonesian National Police held the Puri Agung 2022 operation to secure the G20 Summit in Bali.

Through the command center in the Nusa Dua Bali, the National Police monitors all security sectors at the G20 Summit.

National Police Chief General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, explained, in this command center, there are 16 connected features. Starting from traffic security, cybersecurity, demonstration and terrorism anticipation to natural disaster contingencies.

"So if there is an earthquake, there would be an alarm that would alert our personnel which then would be followed up immediately by our personnel because we have prepared a contingency plan in the event of a disaster," explained the National Police Chief.

In addition, the command center can also report about the wind speed. Furthermore, there are cameras connected to CCTV that are connected at all angles from the airport to the port in Banyuwangi, East Java, and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"This camera is equipped with facial recognition which we connect with data from Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration and Immigration. So that every data of people that detected by CCTV cameras can be seen," he explained.

"If they are detected by the CCTV cameras, there will be a notification to us, and from there we will be able to took appropriate security measures,” he explained. Then, there is also tools that could monitors the members on guard, starting from traffic personnel, sabhara, Mobile Brigade, and others.

"For example, we can monitor our personnel who are at one of these points and we will be able to contact them. We can control all the activities of our personnel who are on duty here for 24 hours to monitor the situations during the event, including incidents," he explained.

For that, the government will give their all in giving the best service during the G20 Summit, both for local and international tourist.

“These two things must be paid attention, where this is the challange for us, are we able to do it or not. On one hand, there is G20 Summit that would determine the impression of Indonesia in the world, where on the other hand it would trigger multi layer effect that could boost Indonesia and Bali to be the place that is known to be the most warm places and the best tourist destination in the world,” he concluded.
