Tribratatanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Accompanied by Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo held evaluation meeting of Covid-19 handling and control with the Forkopimda (Regional Leaders Communication Forum) of Bangka Belitung Islands Province on Saturday (14/8/2021).

In the last month, the Covid-19 confirmed cases in Bangka Belitung has risen due to high public mobility because people assume by the end of Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement), the PPKM itself is finished, and there are no insulation checkpoints in the city, inter-city, and province level.

"This triggers rising public mobility in Bangka Belitung in the last month despite the levelled style PPKM for the next policies", the Chief of Police stated in front of Forkopimda of Bangka Belitung.

Therefore, the Chief of Police asked Forkopimda to re-optimise insulation checkpoints at the inter-district, inter-regency, inter-city, and inter-province borders. Not only that, but he also considers the intensified Justice Operation on crowded places and economic centres subjected to easing policies.

"To reduce transmission mobility potentials", he said.

The Chief of Police said those things must also be followed by a massive announcement to the public towards Health Protocols and implemented PPKM policies.

The former Chief of Banten Regional Police said that those are the efforts to fight Coronavirus and maintaining the 7.07% national economic growth. The Bangka Belitung Islands Province itself recorded 6.85% on economic growth.

"The basic capital is to suppress Covid cases by control strategy that considers the balance of insulation (reducing mobility) and easing policies with adhering to Health Protocols", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police said.

On the other side, the Chief of Police asked the Forkopimda to be more active in persuading self-isolating residents to move to available integrated isolation facilities (Isoter) because the facilities are prepared and the health workers are ready.

"The prepared Isoter has the adequate health workers and good treatment compared to self-isolation. (This announcement) has to conducted so people on treatment could be fully recovered and the undetected transmission risk due to self-isolation could be avoided", the Chief of Police said.

Regarding the need for oxygen and medicine, the Chief of Police said that he and the Commander of the Armed Forces had addressed the government to boost them in the context of Covid-19 handling in Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

"Related to social aid from the central (government), regional government, and Armed Forces-Police, those aids must be delivered to affected people so everything could run well", the Chief of Police concluded.
