Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. Medan City Departmental Police held a press conference for their success in discovering drug trafficking of 23 kg of amphetamine from Tanjung Balai, wrapped in Chinese tea packages.
During the seize, the Police arrested eight perpetrators, one of them is a woman. "The arrested perpetrators are courier, dealer, and amphetamine supplier for the distribution in Medan", Chief of Medan City Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Riko Sunarko, accompanied by Interim Chief of Drugs Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Rikki Ramadhan, and Chief of Profession and Security Section, Police Commissioner Zonni Aroma, to the journalists in Medan City Departmental Police Headquarter on Wednesday (20/10/2021).
The arrested perpetrators are initialled S (22), GS (43), MJ, SNU (30), and I (47), residents of Medan, and FS (42), and EA (34), residents of Batubara, and Police also seized one revolver firearm.
Chief of Medan City Departmental Police explained that the discovery was started on September 21, 2021, at 15.00, at Bakul street, Sunggal subdistrict, Medan Sunggal district, and expanded to Sidomulyo Mulyo street.
On there, one suspect initialled S (22) was arrested, and Police seized 0.13 gr of amphetamine. The arrest then developed into other places.
As a result, Medan City Departmental Police successfully arrested another perpetrator, initialled GS (43), who brought 1 kg of amphetamine and Rp100,000 in cash. From the arrest at the Sei Mencirim street, a perpetrator initialled MJ was running away but arrested a few days later.
"MJ managed to be arrested, in which the person involved in bringing amphetamine with GS at Sei Mencirim street", Chief of Medan City Departmental Police said.
Furthermore, the personnel conducted another development and, on September 30, there were three arrests
At 16.00, Police successfully arrested SNU (30) and seized 3.91 gr of amphetamine and another raid and seized 2.02 gr of amphetamine.
And then, the arrest then developed, and officers managed to arrest I (47). From the perpetrator, Police seized 9.12 gr of amphetamine and one revolver firearm.
Then, on October 11, at 02.00, the Police headed to Batubara regency to arrest the Amphetamine courier whose characteristics had been known. As a result, Medan City Departmental Police arrested FS (43) and EA (34), residents of Batubara.
"From those two perpetrators, Police managed to seize one sack of 22 kg of amphetamine and one Avanza car. So in total, we seized around 23 kg of amphetamine", Chief of Medan City Departmental Police said.
"The perpetrators violated Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics and threatened with a death sentence, life in prison, or six-year minimum and 20 year maximum in prison", Chief of Medan City Departmental Police said.
