Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Semarang. Central Java Regional Police, which initiates the Aku Sedulurmu programme to help orphaned children who lost their parents due to Covid-19, is launching soon.
The programme in the form of providing education aid would be launched by Mrs Juliani Sapta Dewi Magdalena, known as Diana Listyo, at Patra Jasa Hotel Semarang on Monday (16/8/2021).
"The launch of 'Aku Sedulurmu' would also confirm Mrs Diana Listyo as the foster mother of those orphans affected by the pandemic", Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, in Semarang.
According to the Chief of Regional Police, the Aku Sedulurmu programme is a form of care and attention from the Central Java Regional Police to help orphans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"So we will record all the orphans in Central Java who have no father and/or mother and still at school (Elementary, Junior High, and High School) and give them education fund", the Chief of Regional Police said.
Furthermore, the Chief of Regional Police said, out of 333 orphans recorded, three regions have the most orphans: Sukoharjo, Klaten, and Karanganyar regencies.
Besides education aid, they will also receive school uniforms and shoes, including books and fees from school activities.
"We appeal to the public if you have relatives or neighbours who have orphans due to their parent died of Covid-19, they could register to the nearby Departmental Police. We hope that this aid could alleviate their burden in pursuing education", he concluded.
