Tribratanews.polri.go.id- Lampung. Lampung Regional Police escorted tanker truck filled with liquid oxygen from Palembang (South Sumatra) to Bandar Lampung (Lampung), which arrived on Thursday (07/29). The oxygen was assistance from PT Pusri, South Sumatra.
Chief of Lampung Regional Police, Police Inspector General Hendro Sugiatno said the arrival of board of directors to Lampung Regional Police was related to the delivery of 15.8 tons of oxygen assistance to Lampung to cover the shortage of oxygen cylinders in Lampung Province.
" Lampung Regional Police are helping in the process of escorting from Palembang to Bandar Lampung," Chief of Lampung Regional Police, Hendro Sugiatno said when receiving an audience from PT Pusri board of directors at Lampung Regional Police Headquarter, Thursday (07/29).
Chief of Lampung Regional Police said the delivery of liquid oxygen using the tank car will take place in stages. The oxygen was handed over to Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Abdul Moeloek Lampung and Urip Sumoharjo Hospital.
President Director of PT Pusri Tri Wahyudi Saleh said the distribution of oxygen aid from Palembang was under full escort from Lampung Regional Police until it arrived in Bandar Lampung safely and smoothly on Thursday (07/29). The oxygen assistance, he said, was the CSR program of PT Pusri and also PT Sinar Mas.
President Director of PT Pusri Tri Wahyudi Saleh hopes the oxygen assistance from PT Pusri and PT Sinar Mas can help meet oxygen needs in Lampung area during Covid-19 pandemic.
Since early July 2021, Lampung region has had difficulty finding oxygen. In fact, number of positive Covid-19 patients being treated continues to increase, while oxygen stock in the hospital is empty, and the sale of oxygen outside is also running low.
If residents get oxygen-filled cylinders outside, the price has soared, because the demand for oxygen has increased recently. Oxygen stock in the hospital runs out, while oxygen supply at the oxygen selling point outside the hospital is also empty because the demand for oxygen increases during Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) period.
