Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The G20 Bali is ahead of us, it's a week away from November 15-16, 2022. The G20 or Group of Twenty is a major forum for international economic cooperation consisting of 19 countries with the largest economies in the world and one European Union institution.

The G20 members consist of South Africa, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, France, China, Turkey, and the European Union.

More than 6500 people from 26 countries will attend this big world event in Bali. It is an honor for Indonesia as the host of this year’s G20. Therefore, the security and comfort aspect is something that is non-negotiable and should be a top priority for Indonesia as a host.

This is where the role of the Police and the Army, according to Subkhi Ridho (Public Security Analyst) will be in their brightest spotlight. Indonesia is currently one of the tenth largest economic powers in the world in terms of purchasing power parity (IMF 2022).

According to the World Bank, Indonesia has also made remarkable achievements in reducing poverty by more than halving the poverty rate since 1999 to below 10% in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Especially for Bali, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) Bali Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana stated that the G20 Summit provided 1.5-2 times greater use in aggregate than the World Bank IMF (International Monetary Fund) Annual Meeting in Bali in 2018, an indispensable benefit after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"One example of the positive impact of many activities leading up to the summit is the increase in the occupancy rate of hotels in the area of activity implementation and its surroundings," said Adnyana.
