Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Palangkaraya. Katingan Resort Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Paulus Sonny Bhakti Wibowo together with the Commander of Military Regional Katingan Hilir District and the Acting Head of Katingan Hilir Sub-district distributed social assistance (Bansos) in the form of 250 aid packages from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief to communities affected by the flood.
There are at least four locations where the distribution of direct assistance from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, represented by the Katingan Resort Police Chief.
The distribution of social assistance food packages via the river using a speedboat was handed over by the Katingan Resort Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Paulus Sonny Bhakti Wibowo symbolically to representatives of residents in Kasongan Baru Village, Kasongan Lama Village, Tewang Kadamba Village and Tumbang Liting Village, Katingan Hilir District, Katingan Regency.
“Today, we from the Katingan Resort Police are joining the ranks of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, the Camat, the Katingan Hilir Military District Command, and their staff. The distribution of this social assistance from the Central Kalimantan Police Chief was then handed over to the flood-affected communities. The flood disaster that occurred was due to the recent increase in rainfall so that the Katingan river water overflowed into residential areas," said the Resort Police Chief to reporters, Friday (09/03/21).
He explained, so far there has been no evacuation for residents affected by the flood. However, the joint team has formed flood posts and soup kitchens for residents.
"The flood post will continue to provide information to residents if they need to be evacuated at any time," he explained.
