4 February 2022 - 08:13 WIB
Minister of Health of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin, National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, and Kasum TNI Lt. Gen. Eko Margiyono observed the acceleration of simultaneous vaccination acceleration throughout Indonesia by attending the program at Budi Utomo Hall, Bumi Wiyata Hotel, Depok, West Java, Thursday (3/2/2022).

On that occasion, Sigit revealed that the target for the acceleration of vaccination itself is 1,419,110 doses. This number is combination of target to people who have received one, two and three or booster doses of vaccine.

"Today we carry out simultaneous inoculations in 34 provinces with a target of 1,419,110. Then in the Depok itself, especially this hall, specifically targeted 2,500 for the third vaccine or booster," said Sigit.

The former Kabareskrim asked all parties to continue to accelerate the inoculation program. In the midst of new wave of Covid-19 caused by Omicron variant, Sigit also appealed to accelerate vaccines for the elderly and children.

"I would like to take this opportunity to remind the entire community and colleagues on duty, to help carry out acceleration, especially for the elderly and the children. This is because how contagious Omicron variant is at all ages," said the former Banten Police Chief.

Therefore, Sigit emphasized that the public, especially those in Jabodetabek, should take the booster vaccine, prior six months of their inoculation. According to Sigit, the booster can increase the immunity against Omicron.

"The only thing we can do to deal with the existing variants is to adhere to the vaccination program. So those who have been inoculated six months prior from the second vaccine, especially in the Jabodetabek area, please take your booster vaccine," said Sigit.

Apart from Jabodetabek, other regions in Indonesia will also accelerate the acceleration of vaccination, especially boosters. That way, Sigit emphasized the importance of socialization to the public on the importance of preventing and anticipating the Omicron variant through the injection of the three-dose vaccine.

"Furthermore, other regions will follow suit. Efforts are needed to deliver information. Please continue to inform to the public," said Sigit.

On the other hand, Sigit said that the Ministry of Health would prepare regulations regarding infected patients. Where, residents who are positive for Covid-19 with only moderate and severe symptoms will be treated in hospitals that have been prepared.

Meanwhile, asymptomatic or those who has symptoms are allowed to self-quarantine at home with the condition of strict supervision from the local Health Office (Dinkes).

"So then, it can be monitored by the nearest Puskesmas related to the drugs that must be consumed. Thus, you can recover quickly," said Sigit.

In the meantime, the most important thing at this time, said Sigit, was for the community to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols (prokes) in their daily activities.
"We want to see the discipline related to the use of masks, then the activities that have received this interaction, I have seen many of them forget and take off the masks. Please remind them to wear their mask, especially for activities that have high interaction and full of crowd," said Sigit.

Sigit furthermore reminded the public that until now, the Covid-19 pandemic is still engulfing the entire world and Indonesia. Therefore, Sigit hopes that the community and all existing stakeholders will not be negligent or careless.

"There are already victims, even though the numbers are still low. However, we have to keep an eye on them because it still could get worse. This is what we always remind you of. I implore you to those who have not got their second dose to immediately go to the vaccination center and get your dose. Those who have, please go get your booster vaccine," said Sigit.

On this occasion, Sigit also took the time to provide directions to all regions in Indonesia through virtual connections related to the handling and control of Covid-19 in order to prevent the growth rate of the corona virus.
