Maluku Regional Police Chief (Kapolda Maluku), Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. H. Lotharia Latif, SH, M.Hum., appealed to the community, especially Ori Village and Kariu Village, which are clashing on Haruku Island, to restrain each other so that this conflict does not escalate to other areas.
While the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Maluku, Commissioner Roem Ohoirat said that the clashes that occurred on January 25, 2022, was all started from a misunderstanding between residents of the two villages.
He also appealed to the public not to be provoked by misleading issues.
"We must be able to restrain ourselves and maintain each other's security, the security forces are also present to conduct observations and investigations," said Kabid Humas Polda Maluku.
