Kabid Humas Polri: Officers Are Prohibited Carrying Firearms in Securing Demonstrations

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police of Republic Indonesia (Polri) emphasized that all of its staff must not carry firearms when securing demonstrations. Members are prohibited from carrying guns and live ammunition according to the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Police.

"In accordance with operational procedures, security and service for protesters by all members of Polri are not allowed to carry firearms and live ammunition," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kabid Humas) of Polri, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo at the PTIK Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Kabid Humas Polri asked all the Police Chiefs of Indonesia to convey and emphasize this message to their members so that there won’t be any violation by members when securing demonstrations.

"The commitment of the National Police leadership to all members is to strictly comply with all applicable laws and SOPs," said the Two-Star General.

Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo ensures that every member who violates the rules will receive the consequences. That is to get strict punishment according to statutory regulations.

"Anyone who is involved and proven to have committed a violation in every criminal event, be it members of Polri or not, will be dealt with firm and strict law. This is also a reminder for all Polres, Polda in Indonesia," said the Akabri graduate in 1990.
