The Lampung Regional Police (Polda Lampung) and a joint team discovered 6.28 hectares of cannabis plantations, located in the rural areas of Lhokdrien Village, Uteu Hamlet, Sawang District, North Aceh. (28/2/2022).
The Director of the Lampung Police Narcotics Investigation (Dirresnarkoba Lampung), Commissioner Aris Supriyono, S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that this disclosure was the result of the arrest of two recipients of 5 kg marijuana from Aceh in November 2021.
"This is a development of the arrest of PH and DI back in November 2021. They have received a package of 5 kg of marijuana which will be smuggled to Bandung, West Java. The two gave info that this marijuana came from MS, a resident of Kampung Doy, Banda Aceh," stated Dirresnarkoba Lampung.
The discovery of this marijuana field was thanks to a joint team of Polda Lampung, Polda Aceh, North Aceh Regional Military Command 0103, and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
"To get to the location, the team had to walk for four hours, because the passage cannot be traveled by cars or motorbikes," said Commissioner Aris Supriyono, S.I.K., M.H.
The former Jember Police Chief also explained that the 6.28 hectares of marijuana plantations were not found in one location. There are three separate locations with sufficient distance. "The first location covers an area of 1.78 hectares. There are 17,800 marijuana plants with a height of over 200cm, weighing a total of 17.8 tons," he said
Then, the second location with an area of 3 hectares contains 30,000 marijuana plants with a height under 200cm and weighing 15 tons. And the last is covering 1.5 hectares wide and contains 15,000 marijuana plants with a height of under 200 cm and a weight of 7.5 tons.
However, the authorities have not been able yet to apprehend MS or the other networks that plant the marijuana. Currently, Polda Lampung is still in pursuit to arrest MS.
