Joint Forces of Polda-TNI Successfully Rescued Two Fishermen in North Sumatra

The team of Water Police Directorate (Dit Polair) North Sumatra and the TNI-AL Observation Post (Posmat) rescued two fishermen after the boat that was sunk on Saturday, February 6, 2022, in Belawan Waters.

Director of Polair North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut), Commissioner Toni Ariadi Effendi, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., said the two victims are M Daud (55) as the captain of the ship, residents of Lorong Makmur, Medan Belawan District, and Komaruddin alias Sudin (50) crew members from Lorong Melati, Medan Belawan District.

The two victims, who were fishermen, were rescued by Dit Polair North Sumatra and the TNI-AL Posmat on Sunday 27 February 2022 after their ship sank.

"Using an inflatable boat, Dit Polair North Sumatra and the TNI-AL Posmat conducted a search and rescue of drowning victims at sea by scouring along the waters of Labu Beach, Deliserdang Regency," said Polair Director of Polda Sumut, Monday (28/2/22).

The joint teams found the two victims just 4 miles from northwest of Kuala Paluh Dibaji, Labu Beach, Pantai Labu District, Deliserdang Regency.

"We found the two fishermen just 4 miles from northwest of Kuala Paluh Dibaji, Labu Beach, Pantai Labu District, Deliserdang Regency, and was safe and healthy after being helped by another fishing boat," stated the Director of Polair Polda Sumut.

The two fishermen who were found safe were immediately taken to the Pier of the Polairud Deliserdang Headquarters. Then the two were picked up by their family and returned to their respective homes.

"The two fishermen were rescued after the Directorate of Polair North Sumatra and the TNI-AL Posmat received a report from the Labu Beach fishermen about a sinking boat in Belawan waters and the victims being tossed around in the middle of the sea," said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police.
