Ahead New Year’s Eve, East Java Police Carried Out Intense Security in the City and Tourist Destinations

The East Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate pays special attention to areas with a high potential for traffic jams on New Year's Eve 2023. Personnel will carry out insulation to reduce the volume of people entering the city. This measure is also to to minimize, suppress, and prevent criminal acts.

The Director of East Java Police Traffic Unit, Commissioner Muhammad Taslim Chairuddi, says that the insulations would be employed in Surabaya and Malang.

“We will also do some patrols for crime control to prevent any drugs or liquors smuggling in the city,” says Commissioner Muhammad Taslim quoted from Tribunnews.com, Wednesday (12/28).

Moreover, he stated that in tourist destinations area, he has ordered his personnel to made some alternative path to anticipate congestions.

“We admit that the current volume in traffic have passed its limits, so now our goal is to at least the traffic won’t get stuck or locked,” says Commissioner Muhammad Taslim.

The Traffic Unit of East Java Police have identified locations prone to traffic jams. They stated that there are 76 points prone to congestions, 72 points prone to traffic accidents, and 104 points prone to traffic law violations.
