inp.polri.go.id - Jatim. East Java Regional Police Chief (Kapolda Jatim) Inspector General (Irjen) Dr. Nico Afinta Karo-Karo, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., accompanied by the key officials of the East Java Police (Polda Jatim), Wednesday (16/2/2022) afternoon, reviewed the implementation of the third dose of vaccination at Grand City Mall, Surabaya.

In addition to reviewing the implementation of the vaccination, Kapolda Jatim also attended a virtual zoom meeting with the National Police Chief, Police General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., in discussing simultaneous Covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia.

Kapolda Jatim said that the current condition of Covid-19 in East Java has increased by around 7,000 cases, bringing the total to 22,927. Of this total, 24% were admitted to the hospital and 20% were admitted to the ICU.

“Most patients are admitted to self-isolations and centered-isolations. We have three steps in handling Covid-19 in East Java, first, by accelerating the vaccinations, secondly by enhancing the quality of self-isolations and centered-isolations, and lastly by carrying out operations yustisi," said Kapolda Jatim, after attending a zoom meeting with the National Police Chief, Wednesday (16/2/2022) afternoon.

Meanwhile, there are 108 Omicron confirmed patients, 70% of them have already recovered and the other 30% only had mild symptoms.

It was reported that the vaccination for the first dose in East Java has reached 89%, while it was 48% for the second dose. The vaccination for the elderly reached 70% and 71% for the children. The total number of vaccines received was 55, 135, 000. The remaining vaccines were 3.6 million and have been spread across all regencies/cities in East Java.

"Currently, simultaneous vaccinations are being carried out throughout East Java in 60 areas, while in the city of Surabaya the vaccination itself was carried out at the Grand City Mall with the aim of 2,000 inoculations," adds Kapolda Jatim.

Jatim has also prepared quality services for self-isolation and centered-isolations for those who have mild symptoms, one of them is providing telemagazine.
“Most of the people are now doing self-isolation or centered-isolation rather than going to the hospitals,” he said.

So far, yustisi operations have also been carried out in Jatim by conducting Pamor Keris (motor patrols that enforce health protocols) in the community. This is an effective means for the community to comply with the prokes.

“We have two ways in conducting yustisi operations, the first is to convey information to the public through leaflets. While the latter is, if you are stubborn by not complying with the health protocols, you will be fined after being warned. So far, we have collected already collected 124 from the fine," he said.

The local government, TNI, Polri, have already good coordination in handling Covid-19. However, it would be better if it was supported by the community by complying with the Health Protocol.
