Chief Coordinator of Sabhara of Security Maintenance Agency of National Police, Police Inspector General Nanang Avianto, met the personnel of Sabhara Unit of Mimika Departmental Police as a part of the assistance activity of Security Preparation for the 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) 2021 Papua in Mimika Regency. During the visit, the Chief Coordinator of the Sabhara Unit also inspected the preparation of PON XX 2021 Papua in Mimika, mainly venues for the PON.
"Some venues are finished, and another is still under construction. I hope it could finish soon", the Chief Coordinator of Sabhara explained.
The PON XX 2021 Papua is prepared with two scenarios: with or without spectators. "The duty of all personnel of Mimika Departmental Police is to ensure the implementation of tightened Health Protocols, so the tasks for Mimika Departmental Police is quite heavy", he affirmed.
Chief Coordinator of Sabhara also added that besides the routine tasks, there are also other tasks in which the government really expects the Police and Armed Forces to suppress Covid-19 transmission.
"It is indeed that on PON XX 2021, we hope for all scenarios or Covid-19 Health Protocols to be implemented tightly and with discipline", he said.
During the occasion, the Chief Coordinator of Sabhara asked the personnel to stay healthy, either their own, family, or relatives. The Chief Coordinator of Sabhara viewed the family's health as the priority because it influences personnel in conducting duties. In PON XX 2021 Papua, 600 personnel would be deployed for Mimika Departmental Police, considering the amount of existing personnel there.
Prior to the shifting, the deployed personnel would be subjected to tightened Health Protocols because outside of Papua are the regions where the Covid cases are high, so Police does not want to be careless.
"After the assistance of PON XX commencement, I would like to deliver the task of Sabhara to strengthen the region related to Special Material Tools, so the region must identify their conditions and necessities. In the distribution of Special Material Tools, we have divided Papua Regional Police into three zones: coastal, swamps, and mountain areas, so the necessities are in accordance with regional needs. The remaining thing to do is the implementation because it has been approved by Operation Assistant of National Police", he concluded.
