Inspecting Labour's Vaccination, Chief of Police Asks Labourers to Guard Government Programme in Achieving Herd Immunity

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - JAKARTA. Chief of National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, inspecting vaccination event at Epson Ltd in EJIP, South Cikarang, Bekasi, on Wednesday (4/8). The event is the initiation of the Indonesian National Police Headquarter and collaboration with the Metal Workers Union Federation (FSPMI). The Chief of Police was proud of the active role of the labourers in helping the government in the vaccination programme through mass vaccination acceleration cooperation as an effort of Covid-19 pandemic handling. Therefore, the Chief of Police asked that labourers keep guarding the government programme to achieve herd immunity against Coronavirus. "We plan to deploy 25,000 (vaccine doses) for the first jab. Gradually, we would add the dose according to necessities", the Chief of Police said in his opening statement. Chief of Police said that two main aspects must be considered in the Covid-19 pandemic controlling effort: public safety and economy. Chief of Police emphasises there are aspects that must be kept so that both of them could run because health and economic affairs could not be separated. Therefore, Sigit continued to keep the public healthy, mainly labourers and avoided Coronavirus by adhering to Health Protocols and regulations related to working mechanisms, one of them is through vaccination. "So our labour colleagues, please stay healthy because we know that the main state income is through export. And many of our labour colleagues are involved in this activity. Therefore, we have to guard our labour colleagues as the foreign income hero", the Chief of Police said. Chief of Police then expects labourers to inform and campaign vaccination programmes to their colleagues to accelerate the herd immunity and achieve new normal. "Encourage your unvaccinated colleagues so we could achieve new normal after herd immunity has formed", the Chief of Police said. Meanwhile, the President of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI), Said Iqbal, who also attended the event, thanked the Presisi vaccination programme targeting the labourers. Iqbal said that ten per cent of Indonesian labourers are exposed to Covid, and hundreds of labourers have died because of the virus. "Therefore, we from KSPI warmly welcomed and thanked the quick response from the government, especially through the Presisi vaccination programme by the Indonesian National Police. This programme answered everything we have explained about Covid problems", Iqbal concluded.
