Tribratanews.polri.go.id - JAKARTA. Commander of Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, inspected mass vaccination event held by Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) at Kahatex Ltd., Sumedang, West Java, on Thursday (5/8/2021).
In front of the workers, Sigit emphasised the importance of health as the priority to conduct activities and the public economic sector in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, Sigit mentioned that as one of the drivers of the economy, labours must keep healthy to avoid Coronavirus transmission.
"In conclusion, I want the workers' health to be maintained so the economy could grow. Therefore, both aspects must keep running", Sigit said in his opening statement.
Moreover, Sigit said that labours could be categorised as one group that could be called foreign exchange heroes. Especially the ones who are working in the export-import sector.
Therefore, the former Chief of Banten Regional Police said that the government and associated stakeholders, together with the labours, have to be in synergy to accelerate vaccination in order to achieve herd immunity towards Coronavirus.
"(We have to) accelerate vaccination, mainly our labour colleague in KSPSI. We know that labours are foreign exchange heroes for their efforts in the export sector. Therefore, we obliged to maintain the health of our labours colleague", Sigit said.
In order to accelerate, Sigit said, the government would allocate 15,000 vaccine doses for labours in West Java to create healthier and stronger labours to support the economic sector.
"For the vaccination events, we allocate 15,000 doses. If it is felt not enough, it could be re-coordinated", Sigit said.
Meanwhile, the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police said that the daily Covid-19 number is still high, so the labours are expected to obey and implement Health Protocols in their daily life.
"Even though already vaccinated, keep your Health Protocols such as wearing a face mask after vaccination so the Health Protocols could be implemented and the vaccination could be expanded", Sigit said.
On the same occasion, Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, said that in order to control the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination is one of the strategies besides Health Protocols and 3T.
"Those three things are important because the Delta variant of the virus, which has faster transmission ability, is the dominant Covid-19 variant in the country", Hadi said.
Besides vaccination, the Commander of Armed Forces and Chief of Police also gave social aid to labours and local people to alleviate their burden in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
