Good news for those whose Driver License expired in August 2021, namely, even if they are late in extending their Driver License, there is no need to make a new Driver License. This is because the Provincial Government in several cities held a dispensation for Driver License holders whose validity period expired at Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement Level 4.
The Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police's Directorate of Traffic Security is still providing dispensation for Driver License extensions for Driver License applicants whose validity period has expired. So a Driver License that is late for renewal can still be taken care of without having to make a new one. The condition is that the Driver License expired on the date of implementation of the Community Activity Restriction Enforcement.
Even so, there are several conditions that must be met by the community so that their application for an extension of their driver's license is accepted by the police.
These conditions include:
1. For Driver License holders whose validity period expires on 3rd July to 23 August 2021 can be extended from 24 to 31 August 2021 with an extension mechanism
2. For Driver License Holders who do not carry out an extension within the grace period, they will implement a new Driver License issuance mechanism.
The above provisions apply to the Saptas of the Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police. So, Driver Licenses that expire from July 3 to August 16 don't need to make a new one. The Driver License could still be extended on 18-23 August. Outside that date, the applicant must carry out the mechanism for issuing a new Driver License. The mechanism for issuing a new Driver License includes taking the exam in theory and practice.
Driver License renewal fees are regulated in Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 60 of 2016 concerning Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenues Applicable to the Indonesian National Police. The following is the Driver License renewal fee according to PP No. 60 Year 2016:

Driver License B I: IDR 80,000
Driver License B II: IDR 80,000
Driver License C: IDR 75,000
