Indonesian National Police: People Can Report Illegal Loans to Resort Police and Regional Police

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police said that the public no longer needs to report illegal online loans to the Indonesian National Police Headquarters in Jakarta. Director of Special Economic Crimes of the Indonesian National Police, Police Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto said the public could immediately report the case to the Departemental Police and Regional Police.

"I convey that every community can report illegal loans at all local police stations. So it can be at the Departemental Police, the Regional Police, you don't have to always go to the (Indonesian National Police) Headquarters," he explained at the Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/11/2021).

The One Star General also confirmed that Criminal Investigation Agency had sent a telegram to the ranks of the Departemental Police and Regional Police to instruct investigations and investigations in their respective areas.

"So if there is a case at the Bogor Departemental Police, report it to the Bogor Departemental Police. The Departemental Police in Ponorogo report to the Ponorogo Departemental Police," he explained.

Previously, the Indonesian National Police had also provided hotline services related to online loans via WhatsApp and Instagram.

Head of Public Information Bureau of the Indonesian National Police Public Relations Division, Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said that people who feel victims of intimidation from illegal online loan providers (pinjol) could report to the Task Force via Whatsapp and Instagram.

"For handling loans, the Indonesian National Police has opened a hotline through Whatsapp and Instagram accounts," explained Head of Public Information Bureau at the Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency, Jakarta, Monday (25/10/2021).

The public can access the hotline service via Whatsapp through the number 0812-1001-9202. Meanwhile, the Task Force's Instagram account is @satgas_pinjol_illegal.

"These are two hotlines opened by the Indonesian National Police which can be used by the public if there are matters related to illegal loans, they can submit complaints through the hotline," he concluded.
