Permata Kedaung Kaliangke Complex, Cengkareng, West Jakarta - known as Kampung Ambon . The step deserves appreciation.
West Jakarta Metro Police Resort in cooperation with Directorate of Drug Investigation of Greater Jakarta metropolitan Regional Police, Mobile Brigade of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police and related institution changed Kampung Ambon into Kampung Tangguh Jaya to clean the area from illicit drug trafficking and Covid-19 free area.
"We will later build a security post which will not only eradicate drugs but also free the village from the Covid-19 epidemic," Head of Drug Investigation Unit of West Jakarta Metro Resort Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Ronaldo Maradonna Siregar explained it in Jakarta, Friday (05/28/21).
Ronaldo Maradona Siregar also said the joint personnel stationed at the post were ready for patrolling and standby for 24 hours. "We are not only patrolling, but also taking action against the residents we suspect. We will check, if we find drugs, we will immediately process them. We also educate the community to always apply health protocols in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, " he explained.
Currently, the first step taken by the joint-team apparatus is to reach out community in increasing their participation. This step is taken in order for the community to be more aware of their surrounding neighborhood and avoiding any negativity.
In its implementation, the police needs people’s awareness and help to be actively involved in developing Kampung Tangguh. “So, influencing public to participate is the first step we want to take, so they will have awareness to build their neighboorhood free from drugs,” as explained by theHead of Drug Investigation Unit of West Jakarta Metro Resort Police.
