Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police Synergy Hand in Hand in Facing the Covid-19 Pandemic

Tribratanews.polri.go.id-Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) continue to work hand in hand with all elements of the nation to face the Covid-19 pandemic. One of them is by continuing to encourage national vaccination efforts.

Operations Assistant to the TNI Commander, Major General Syafruddin, said that the TNI had deployed 10,867 health workers as vaccinators to carry out vaccinations in 34 provinces. He explained that the TNI carried out the vaccinations in 109 TNI hospitals and 694 TNI level I health facilities.

"Vaccination is also carried out door to door through vaccination campaigns involving three pillars, the health service, the TNI, and the Indonesian National Police," he said Tuesday (14/9).

Major General Syafruddin added that from March 2021 until now, the TNI had vaccinated around 14 million people. The TNI also sent 184 health personnel to level 3 and level 4 areas.

"The TNI has also distributed 300 thousand drug packages, 690 oxygen concentrators, 40 thousand antigen packages, 3,500 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)," he said.

Assistant Operations to the Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto added, the number of vaccines distributed by the Indonesian National Police from February 2021 - September 2021 was 36,729,982 doses.

With the number of people who have been vaccinated as many as 22 million people. The Indonesian National Police deployed 5,371 vaccinator personnel with 2,105 Polri precision outlets to support the vaccination attack program.

So far, 73 million people have been vaccinated. This means that as much as 35 per cent of the vaccination target or target of 208 million Indonesians.

However, he emphasized that efforts and hard work are still needed to further increase the acceleration and expansion of vaccination, especially for the elderly and adolescent age groups.

In supporting this effort, the Indonesian National Police and the TNI have carried out several programs, including vaccine attacks, independent vaccines, mobile vaccinations, and various activities in collaboration with stakeholders such as Islamic boarding schools, places of worship, universities, and communities, and so on.

He again reminded, apart from vaccination, what should not be forgotten is a discipline in health protocols by carrying out health protocols, especially wearing masks and obeying the mobility restriction rules set by the government.

The Two-Stars General said that anything can be done, if all the Indonesian people unite, try and fight together, working together to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. "Hopefully, we are all healthy and always in the protection of Allah SWT," he said.
