Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Pekanbaru. Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General. Agung Setya Imam Effendi inaugurated the Vaccine Center Building as well as observing the implementation of the mass vaccine of the Meranti Islands Police at the Tebing Tinggi Police, Wednesday (10/06/2021).
The Riau Regional Police Chief said that the response to the Covid-19 pandemic in the Meranti Islands Regency was carried out by implementing several steps, including accelerating vaccination.
Together with the Meranti Islands Regency Government, Meranti Resort Police continue to promote the acceleration of vaccination to villages. Currently, the vaccination program in Meranti Islands has reached more than 35%.
In its implementation, the Meranti Resort Police Center Vaccine Building will operate every day as an effort to pursue the community's Herd immunity.
"A total of 1,000 people received injections of the Covid-19 vaccine, which was carried out at the Vaccine Center Building. In addition, the Meranti Police also prepared a door to door vaccination team," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.
In implementing the vaccine, the Meranti Police also vaccinated the indigenous Meranti Islands tribe, the Akik Tribe.
"Of 1000 who were vaccinated, that included the Akik tribal community," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.
