In Approaching Christmas and New Year, East Kalimantan Regional Police to Monitor All Locations to Anticipate Drug Trafficking

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Samarinda. East Kalimantan Regional Police and Provincial National Narcotics Board (BNNP) to tighten monitoring on drug trafficking in approaching Christmas and New Year holidays.

Director of Drugs Investigation of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Rickynaldo Chairul, said that Police had prepared measures to surveillance drug trafficking during Christmas and New Year. "In the context of Lilin Operation for Christmas and New Year security, all locations to be secured and monitored to anticipate drug trafficking", the Director of Drugs Investigation of East Kalimantan Regional Police said on Saturday (18/12/21).

He also explained that vulnerable spots would be monitored, including entry points prone to drug trafficking. Not only that, but drugs abuse would also become Police's concern. The Lilin Operation during Christmas and New Year would indeed provide safe for East Kalimantan people.

Furthermore, the former Chief of Bekasi Departmental Police also instructed his personnel at Departmental and Sectoral Police to anticipate drug trafficking during Christmas and New Year. "In essence, we won't let drug trafficking happen during Christmas and New Year", the Director of Drugs Investigation of East Kalimantan Regional Police said.

As previously reported, the BNNP of East Kalimantan monitors and prevent drug trafficking in approaching Christmas and New Year. They also will, in synergy with related institutions and stakeholders to focus on suppressing illicit drugs trafficking.

Chief of East Kalimantan BNNP, Police Brigadier General Wisnu Andayana, confirmed questions regarding tightening entry points of drugs in East Kalimantan, such as airports, harbours, and borders, to prevent drugs entering during Christmas and New Year.

"Due to our limited personnel, facilities, infrastructure, and budget in BNNP and BNN of City, BNN would indeed coordinate with Police and related institutions to monitor drug trafficking", the Chief of East Kalimantan BNNP said.
