In Approaching Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 Celebrations, Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police Implemented Crowd Free Night

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Traffic Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police would implement Crowd Free Night (CFN) in several locations in Jakarta during Christmas and 2022 New Year's Eve to disperse public crowds and mobility.

"We may implement Crowd Free Night. Just like 2021 New Year's Eve, we would conduct the same thing on 2022 New Year's Eve", Director of Traffic of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, said on Tuesday (22/11/21).

Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo also said that, compared to the previous year, in which CFN was only implemented in the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor, this year, Police would plan to add more CFN that often becomes New Year's Eve destinations.

"Not only in Sudirman-Thamrin but also to places often becomes New Year's Eve celebrations such as Taman Mini and Ancol. Locations often used as New Year celebration would be subjected to CFN", Director of Traffic said.

The Director of Traffic also mentioned that the implementation methods and locations subjected to CFN on 2022 New Year's Eve are being finalised. The policy is expected to prevent Covid-19 cases surge after Christmas and New Year holidays. "(We hope) for no significant Covid-19 cases increase after Christmas and New Year holiday", he said.
