108 Football Players and Coach Died Due to Covid-19 Vaccines: Hoax

There was a report on various social media with a narrative explaining that 108 FIFA football players and coaches died from the Covid-19 vaccine.

Quoted from kompas.com, claims that 108 FIFA players and coaches died due to the effects of the Covid-19 vaccine are false. Based on search results, the number 108 is identified as coming from an article published on November 13, 2021 on an Israeli-based site.

The article wrote about professional athletes and coaches who fainted during training. The athletes mentioned are not only from FIFA, but also basketball, tennis and volleyball who are claimed to have died of heart-related diseases since the global vaccination campaign.

However, the news is proved to be a hoax. Reported by politifact.com, an American basketball athlete who is said to be one of the 108 athletes named Keyontae Johnson was fainted during a match at Florida State University on December 12 2020, two days before the United States started distributing the Covid-19 vaccine.

There were also athletes who died in 2019, long before the development of the Covid-19 vaccine. Other names are athletes who died not as a result of vaccines but due to traumatic brain injuries, motorcycle accidents, strokes and suicides.
