Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The National Police Chief once again proved that one of these law enforcement institutions highly respects freedom of expression in Indonesia. This is evidenced by holding the 2021 Bhayangkara Mural Festival, which will be held simultaneously in all regions in Indonesia, Saturday (10/30/21).
The National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, directly opened the 2021 Bhayangkara Mural Festival at the Bhayangkara Police Headquarters field, attended by hundreds of muralists from all over Indonesia.
In the statement given, the National Police Chief stated that freedom of expression was regulated in Article 28 of the 1945 Constitution and was also confirmed in Law 9 of 1998 concerning freedom of expression in public. This is one of the foundations for freedom of expression in public in Indonesia.
"So, of course, the 2021 Bhayangkara Mural Festival is proof that we respect freedom of expression," said the National Police Chief.
The National Police Chief also conveyed the sub-themes of the activity, one of which was devoted to providing room for criticism for the National Police institution. The National Police Chief said that the Police used this to see feedback from the public's perception of the Police. Thus, positive input becomes motivation, while negative input will be used as material for reflection, introspection to change for the better.
