Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Head of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesia National Agency, Police Grand Commissioner Arief Sulistyanto checked the equipment for handling forest and land fire owned by Riau Regional Police, Tuesday (08/03/21).
The equipment inspection was also attended by Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendy, Commander of 031 Wirabima Military Region Command, Brigadier General M. Syech Ismed, and the entire Riau Regional Police High Rank Officers group.
Police Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto immediately checked the readiness of Riau Regional Police in handling forest and land fire, considering that Riau Province is one of the priorities in preventing and handling forest and land fires.
Head of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesia National Police appreciated skills in utilizing and modifying motorcycles to help extinguish forest and land fire. He also checked directly the readiness of Lancang Kuning application to monitor hotspots for 24 hours accurately and up to date using five satellites. This speeds up the identification process. When fire appears, it immediately detects and can be handled quickly.
On that occasion, Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi introduced special task force formed to deal with forest and land fire.
This task force is named Riau Fire and Forestry Task Force Battalion, consisting of elements of police, Indonesia National Armed Forces, Regional Disaster Management Agency, and volunteers. Scattered in number of vulnerable areas and equipped with extinguishers.
The use of other technology in handling forest and land fires is thermal drones equipped with the ability to monitor hotspot was introduced by Inspector General Agung. With the help of this special drone, it is very helpful for officers in the field. Officers can accurately determine the location and condition of the burned land, so it can be handled quickly and the right way.
After checking the preparedness of the anticipation of Riau's forest and land fire, the three-Star General gave briefings to High Rank Officers of Riau Regional Police.
After giving the briefing, Head of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesia National Police and his entourage continued their activity to review PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) at Cik Puan market, PPKM in East Tangkerang, Hajj Dormitory as an isolation place for Covid patients and vaccination activity at UIR campus.
