Tribratanews.polri.go.id. - Jayapura. Six thousand Papuan Regional Police personnel will be alerted to secure the implementation of the National Sports Week 2021 in Papua, next October. Thousands of Papuan Regional Police personnel will later join members of the Police andNational Armed Forces from outside Papua who are seconded to secure 2021 National Sports Week.
"In addition to Municipal Police which will later be assigned to secure the National Sports Week in Papua, specifically the Papuan Regional Police, we have prepared 6,000 members of the National Police for the security of National Sports Week" explained the Papuan Regional Police Chief, Brigadier General Pol. Mathius D. Fakhiri, in Jayapura, Monday (08/30).
When asked about the demand for payments from indigenous peoples for National Sports Week venues, Mathius emphasised that ahead of the implementation of the 2021 Papuan National Sports Week, the National Sports Week venues are still having problems, the payment will be completed after the National Sports Week is completed.
"Yes, when it comes to National Sports Week venues that are still problematic, the payment will be completed after the National Sports Week is completed," said the Regional Police Chief
The 6,000 members of the National Police will be divided into 4 regencies/cities as hosts for the National Sports Week, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Timika and Merauke.
