Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Directorate of Drugs Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police thwarted the marijuana trafficking conducted by the Jakarta-Aceh-Medan network.
"This is the network of Jakarta, Medan, and Aceh. There are twelve suspects arrested and six still running away", the Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran, on Monday (18/10/21).
The Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police explained that the marijuana came from Aceh province and usually being consumed by beginner users in Jakarta.
According to the two-star general, the consumers are the youths that were often conducting violence in the street.
"In the future, Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police would strengthen the family resilience, because the users are mostly young people", Police Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran said.
In the same place, Chief of PR and Press Agency of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus, explained that it started from the arrest of two dealers initialled RS and AF in East Ciputat, South Tangerang, on September 10, 2021.
From those two suspects, Police seized 58.37 grams of marijuana packed in 58 ready-to-distribute packages.
"From those two people, the case was developing. On September 24, 2021, we arrested another three suspects, initialled A, IT, and MA, in Tanah Sereal, Tambora, West Jakarta", Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus said.
From those three suspects, the personnel of the Directorate of Drugs Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police seized 112 kg of marijuana. After further investigation, this syndicate admitted that they received the drugs from Aceh, sent through Medan.
After arriving at the location pointed by the suspects, the Police arrested another four people who were sending 600 kgs of Marijuana from Kutacane, Southeast Aceh. The four suspects arrested are initialled AK (seller), B (intermediary), IU (car driver), and MH (car co-driver).
"On October 11, 2021, we arrested another three suspects at the Sumatra Western Road. They are initialled R and E, who guard the marijuana delivery, and H, the driver who brought the marijuana", the Graduate of 1991 Class of Armed Forces Academy said.
Chief of PR and Press Agency of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police stated that the seized 1,370 kgs of marijuana are worth Rp7 billion. Police would keep developing the case to cut off drugs supply in Indonesia.
