Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police Stops Blocking at 100 Points, Replaces with Odd - Even plate policy

"As a result of the meeting with relevant agencies, there is a change in mobility patterns that will be carried out for the next seven days, starting from August 10-16, 2021. As an illustration, one of them starting tomorrow we will stop blocking at 100 points," explained the Traffic Director of the Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police, Police Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo.

Even though the blockade has been stopped, the Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police is still looking for ways with the intention of suppressing community mobility.

There are three ways that the Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police will do in suppressing community mobility without blocking at a number of points:
1. Mobility control with an odd-even system;
2. Control of area mobility with a patrol system;
3. Mobility control with traffic engineering system.

The odd-even implementation rules only apply to four-wheeled vehicles or more according to the mobility date. Meanwhile, two-wheeled vehicles will not be affected by the odd-even rule.

"To increase effectiveness, by going through this odd-even, it is easier for officers in the field to monitor that only those who pass according to the date they carry out the activity. In addition, it only applies to four wheels and above, for two wheels it does not apply," said the Traffic Director. .
