Head of Public Relations of Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus explained that investigators traced a package containing a statue sent by someone through Soekarno Hatta Airport.
The police and related agencies then checked the statue. Yusri revealed that joint officers found a 16 kilogram package of methamphetamine from inside the statue. Investigators followed up on the findings by looking for the recipient of the package. Yusri admitted that the officers had problems because the addresses listed were fictitious.
"It's true that there is 16 kilograms of methamphetamine. It's inside the statue. Packages were sent from across countries including from Africa. Investigators explored and succeeded in going to the Pondak Melati area, Jatiwarna where the statue-shaped items containing shabu were delivered," he explained.
The Head of Public Relations also said that his party arrested two people with the initials DO and FS. Both are suspected of being the recipients of the package. investigators continue to interrogate the two perpetrators to identify the person who ordered them to take the packages.
According to the Head of Public Relations, there is one person suspected of controlling these two people. The person with the initials C was supposed to be their boss. Currently, his status is still at large.
