inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police will extend the insulation policy until May 24th to tightens homecomers entering Jakarta. The police are also adding two insulation checkpoints in Tanjung Priok and Kampung Rambutan bus terminals.
“Regarding the returning wave, we know that Ketupat Operation 2021 was started on May 6th and will end today on May 17th. However, judging the situation, the Chief of Regional Police issued the operation extension up to May 24th on 14 insulation checkpoints, two more checkpoints than the previous policy. Police would establish additional checkpoints at Tanjung Priok and Kampung Rambutan bus terminal. This effort aims to minimise Covid-19 spread”, Chief of Public Affairs and Press of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said.
Chief of Public Affairs and Press of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police explains that the additional checkpoints are based on the previous year’s evaluation and effort to suppress Covid-19 transmission. Previously, there were 12 antigen swab test checkpoints on Jadetabek (Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) region conducted by joint officers from Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Jakarta Regional Military Command, and Jakarta Provincial Government. Now, there are fourteen insulation checkpoints established by the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police.
“Indeed we evaluate from the previous year. Now we know that every homecoming season is always related to the increase of Covid-19 new positive cases. We started to do some innovation to minimise, even avoids the Covid-19 homecoming cluster that usually happens after returning flow period”, he concludes.
