Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police Chief Observes Tangerang Class 1A Prison Fire

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Fadil Imran inspects the Tangerang Class I Penitentiary (Lapas) which caught fire, Wednesday (09/08/21) early in the morning.

The fire killed 41 inmates, 8 seriously injured and 72 lightly injured.

Pol. Inspector-General Fadil Imran expressed his condolences for the tragedy.

"We pray together that the deceased will all be forgiven of all their sins and given a proper place by the side of God Almighty," explained the Two-Star General.

The Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police Chief also prays for the prisoners in the prison to be able to continue their coaching period soon.

"Later, the update will be submitted by the Regional Head of Regional Office, Police Chief, and Head of Police. We are also backed up by the Military District Command," explained the Indonesian Military Academy graduate in 1991.

In the same place, the Head of Public Relations Subdivision for the Tangerang City Metro Police, Police Commissioner Abdul Rachim said that the fire situation had been controlled and joint officers were evacuating the bodies of the victims.

"The fire has been controlled, now we have data on the victims, please be patient," said Police Commissioner Abdul Rahim.
