Personnel of Traffic Police Corps of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police arrested a man who initialled AHH, fake police pretending to work at the Internal Security Bureau of Profession and Security Division of the Indonesian National Police. He was arrested at Kuningan tollroad bound for Semanggi on Tuesday (15/6) at 11.00 a.m.
Director of Traffic Corps of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo, explained that the police personnel were suspicious of a car using a fake police number plate going from Kuningan to Semanggi on the third lane of the toll road. Due to the suspicion, the officer stopped the vehicle whose owner resides in Bidara Cina, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
The police suspect that the perpetrator uses a fake police identity. Therefore, he sent him to Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police for further investigations.
"When tried to be stopped, the driver issued National Police identity and claimed as a National Police personnel working at Internal Security Bureau of Profession and Security Division of Indonesian National Police. However, he tried to ran when the officer tried to grab his car key", Director of Traffic Corps of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police said.
The officer then asked for assistance from the picket personnel in front of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police Headquarter to arrest the perpetrator before sending him to the First Unit of Subdirectorate of Violent Crimes of Directorate of General Crime Investigation of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police for a further legal process.
