Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police: Merdeka Vaccination Increases Vaccine Recipients to 96 Percent

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of Public Relations Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus said the Merdeka Vaccination program increased the number of residents of the capital vaccinated.

"Before the launch of the Merdeka Vaccination on August 1, 2021, around 84.55 per cent of Jakarta residents were vaccinated against Covid-19. Now it's almost 96 per cent," explained the Head of Public Relations Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Saturday (07/08/2021).

Head of Public Relations Division said that the awareness of Jakarta residents to receive the Covid-19 vaccine had increased.

In addition, the number of Covid-19 cases in Metropolitan Jakarta is also said to have decreased along with the number of residents who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

"Jakarta today has 2,008 positive cases, which means that herd immunity has been established in Jakarta. This is because most of them have been vaccinated," said the Head of Public Relations Division.

Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police initiated the Merdeka Vaccination program. According to the Head of Public Relations Division, this program involves community elements such as students, doctors, nurses, and Neighbourhood/Hamlet administrators.

"Those involved are placed in 687 vaccine outlets spread across 900 Hamlet," closed the Head of Public Relations Division.
