Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. The Gorontalo Police Chief has alerted 260 personnel for Operation Obedient Otanaha 2021. The troop deployment will be held at the Gorontalo Police Headquarters led by the Gorontalo Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Akhmad Wiyagus, and attended by the Governor of Gorontalo Rusli Habibie.
Operation Obedient Otanaha 2021 will begin Tuesday, September 21, 2021, and last for the next 14 days. In contrast to traffic operations in previous years, this operation not only focuses on security, safety and traffic order (Kamseltibcarlantas) but also handles the transmission of COVID-19.
"Later on, officers will not only provide direction to the public to be disciplined in driving but also implement health protocols to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the Gorontalo Province," said the Gorontalo Regional Police Chief.
Several types of activities were carried out in addition to motor vehicle raids, namely implementing social services and urging road users to participate in vaccinations. The Regional Police Chief hopes that his personnel will move for persuasive, sympathetic, and humanist education during the operation.
In the same place, Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie supported this operation, especially for the handling of COVID-19. Logistics assistance and vaccination personnel from the Gorontalo Provincial Government are ready to be seconded for the success of this activity.
"In principle, I support it. However, if you need vaccines and personnel, you need to contact the head of the health office. We are ready to help and succeed. Handling COVID-19 requires the role of all parties; what the Regional Police has done is a good example of collaboration," concluded the Governor of Gorontalo.
