Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. From January to November 2021, the Drugs Investigation Directorate of Riau Islands Regional Police successfully arrested 425 narcotic suspects consisting of 406 men and 19 women.
Director of the Drugs Investigation of Riau Islands Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Mudji Supriadi, explained that based on the record, the Drugs Investigation Directorate of Riau Islands Regional Police successfully handled 68 drugs cases.
Afterwards, it is Barelang City Departmental Police with 67 cases, Tanjungpinang Departmental Police with 60 cases, Karimun Departmental Police with 60 cases, Bintan Departmental Police with 21 cases, Natuna Departmental Police with 4 cases, Lingga Departmental Police with 6 cases, and Anambas Departmental Police with 3 cases.
Police Grand Commissioner Mudji Supriadi affirmed that the Riau Islands Regional Police personnel would keep punishing drugs cases.
"We would increase punishment. However, we cannot work alone and hope for help from the community, such as telling us about suspicious actions like drugs trading. Let's get together in handling this drugs case", the Director of Drugs Investigation of Riau Islands Regional Police.
The former Deputy Chief of Barelang City Departmental Police also said that all arrested suspects are Indonesian citizens.
Police seized evidence such as 3,394.19 grams of marijuana, 186.53 kg, 2,990.25 ecstasy pills, 209.42 gr of heroin, and 5967 Happy Five pills.
Police Grand Commissioner Mudji Supriadi advised people who know the drugs trafficking around their neighbourhood to coordinate with Police.
"Community role really helps, so we hoped for cooperation because drugs are our common enemy", the Drugs Investigation Director of Riau Islands Regional Police.
