Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Mamuju. TheWest Sulawesi Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation managed to discover twelve gambling cases in the past week.
Of the 12 cases, police officers arrested 19 suspects spread across six districts.
"This week, we have revealed 12 cases related to gambling, and we will continue to try to uncover other gambling cases until the West Sulawesi region is free from gambling practices," explained the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Agency of the West Sulawesi Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner I Nyoman Artana, Sunday (10/24/21).
According to the Intermediate Officer of the West Sulawesi Regional Police, one of the online gambling cases that were successfully uncovered was in the Binanga Village, Mamuju Regency, which allegedly generated millions of rupiah in turnover.
Police Grand Commissioner. I Nyoman Artana explained that from the interrogation results, the perpetrators admitted that they became an online bookies with the mode of accepting soccer and lottery gambling partners from customers.
"When we were arrested, the perpetrators were caught in the middle of an online gambling act, and when interrogated, they immediately admitted that they accepted a gambling partner for soccer and lottery matches for the Hong Kong market," said the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Agency of the West Sulawesi Regional Police.
From the hands of the perpetrators, the police secured cash from gambling transactions worth IDR 7,920,000, one notebook, three sheets of online gambling recapitulation papers, and two smartphones.
