For Herd Immunity Acceleration, Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police Targets 70% People Vaccinated by Year's End

Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police, Police Inspector General Anang Syarif Hidayat, stated that, until September 2021, vaccinated people in Bangka Belitung Islands have reached 50%. Anang targets that by the year's end, 70% or 1.12 million of people in Bangka Belitung Islands Province have been vaccinated.

After inspecting the Manggar vaccination outlet in the Manggar District Office and saw the students' vaccination event in 1 Manggar Public Junior High School of Manggar on Thursday (30/9/21), the Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police is optimistic that the Provincial target could be achieved.

"If referring to national vaccination of 70%, this means 1.5 million of Bangka Belitung must be vaccinated, so we target 1.12 million people vaccinated by the year's end", Police Inspector General Anang Syarif Hidayat said.

Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police stated that about one per cent of people of Bangka Belitung Islands Province are vaccinated every day. Now, the vaccination achievement in Bangka Belitung Islands reached 50% and kept surpassing the national average of 42.51%.

"Today, (vaccination rate) in Bangka Belitung reached 50%. We grow one per cent every day and, God willing, (the minimum target) would be achieved by the next two months, at least until December 2021", Police Inspector General Anang Syarif Hidayat said.

For the achievement in East Belitung Regency, Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police stated that 55% of East Belitung people have received first vaccination. The statistic, according to him, is excellent, compared to the Provincial average.

"This effort has been excellent. So, I ask the Regent, Head of the Regional Representative Assembly, and the community to support this vaccination policy. Please get vaccinated if you have not", Chief of Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police said.
