A joint team from the Food Task Force from the National Police (Satgas Pangan Polri), the Lampung Regional Police (Polda Lampung), and the Provincial Industry and Trade Office of the Lampung Province (Disperindag) held an inspection at CV Sinar Laut, Sukabumi, Bandar Lampung, Tuesday (22/2).

In their inspection, they found around 32,000 boxes or 345,600 liters of cooking oil, which was not distributed by the company. The cooking oil has been in stock since January 2022.

Director of the Special Criminal Investigations (Dirkrimsus), Commissioner Arie Racman Nafarin said that this hoarding is happening because the administration process of the cooking oil was not finished yet.

"The negotiations have not been finished yet, there is a difference in the price purchased for Rp. 18,000 while the government price is Rp. 14,000. So the government will replace the shortfall. The administration must check and verify the goods," he said.

Commissioner Arie Racman Nafarin adds that his party asked the company to immediately distribute this cooking oil to the public, “the administration can wait,”

the Director of CV Sinar Laut, Andre Setiawan, explained that this is not hoarding. This stock is the old stock from January 2022 which has been reported to the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).

"There is a price constraint, last Friday we met with exporters who want to buy old stock. The old stock has a high price while the government HET is Rp. 14,000. These exporters bridge the price difference," he said.

"So exporters buy for Rp. 18,000 and then sell to us at HET price of Rp. 14,000. We also cannot take a single rupiah of profit, we immediately distribute it to the public," he continued.

After that, the exporter agreed, then this cooking oil will be directly distributed to the public.
