Food Task Force Polri Encourgaed Cooking Oil Distribution is According To The Market Mechanism

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The food task force of National Police of Indonesia (Polri) continued investigate the hoarding of cooking oil that happened in Makassar, Medan, Lampung, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Banten.

Although still under investigation, The Head of Food Task Force, Inspector General Helmy Santika asked the distribution of cooking oil still have to comply with the market mechanism applied.

"To all the cooking oil that has been dicovered by Polri, We urged you to distribute it with the market mechanism applied," he said, Friday (4/3/2022).

Producers and distributors of cooking oil who often hoarding or stockpile the supply are asked to immediately distribute them properly. The Head of the Food Task Force emphasized that his party continues to prioritize communication and coordination with relevant ministries and institutions such as the KPPU, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia to oversee the process of producing and distributing cooking oil on the market. "Don't reduce production and play with distribution allocations," he explained.

Previously, the National Police's Food Task Force found a number of suspected cases related to the distribution of cooking oil in a number of areas. Such as in North Sumatra, Central Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to Makassar with various methods

As in Kudus, Central Java, cooking oil is mixed with water and then distributed at low prices. Then there was a stockpiling of a number of stocks in North Sumatra and NTT.

The stockpiling also occurred in Makassar, namely the discovery of misuse of bulk cooking oil as much as 61.18 tons. The cooking oil should have been intended for household needs, but by the actors it was transferred to the industry.
