Food Task Force Exposed Cooking Oil Fraud in Central Java

The Food Task Force of National Police (Polri) has arrested suspects selling fake cooking oil mixed with water in the Kudus area of Central Java.

Head of the Food Task Force Inspector General (Irjen) Helmy Santika, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc., confirmed the fake cooking oil case occurred in the Kudus area, Central Java. In this case, investigators have arrested the perpetrator and named him a suspect.

Irjen Helmy has not yet explained how long the suspects have been selling the fake cooking oil to the public and the profit the perpetrators have made.

"So the way that he sells it is, he sold the genuine cooking oil from first until the third hand, then the fourth one is fake oil that has been mixed with water," stated the Irjen Helmy Santika, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc., at Police Headquarters, Monday (21/2/2022).

According to the two-star general, the Food Task Force has also arrested all the perpetrators of the fake cooking oil seller. "We have coordinated with the Central Java Police Food Task Force to arrest these perpetrators so that they will be processed by law," said the Head of Food Task Force of Polri.

The former Director of Special Economic Crimes Bareskrim Polri explained that his party will continue to take action if there are irregularities in cooking oil for the community. "We continue to monitor the issue and we will take action if there are irregularities," concluded Irjen Helmy Santika, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc.
