inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police's Food Task Force is anticipating a spike in basic commodities prices in several areas. Anticipation is done by carrying out strict supervision.

"We are doing it together with the relevant ministries and overseeing the availability of basic commodities, as well as controlling prices so that they remain stable," explained the Chief of the National Police's Food Task Force Inspector General Helmy Santika, S.H., S.I.K., M.Sc., when interviewed by reporters, Friday, March 4, 2022.

The National Police Food Task Force also conducts an initial inspection related to the turmoil of existing problems. Starting from the bottom level, both producers, farmers, traders, distributors, importers to consumers.

"So, it can be coordinated with the competent government to find the best solution ahead of holy month Ramadhan," stated the Two-Star general.

the Head of the National Police's Food Task Force adds there is another step by going to the field with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade, and the National Food Agency, to check and identify problems that occur.

"The most important thing is to maintain the availability of food supplies, one of the most effective ways to maintain the price of daily supplies is to maintain stock availability and maintain a balance of supply and demand," stated the National Police Management Expert.

Currently, several basic commodities show a rising in price, such as cooking oil, soybeans, sugar, and meat. The increase in the price of basic commodities is thought to have occurred because of the holy month of Ramadan that will soon be upon us.
