Failed to Smuggle, Courier of 3.2 Kg Methamphetamine Arrested at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police thwarted the smuggling of 3.2 kilograms of methamphetamine.

"The evidence is 32 clear plastic wraps containing class I narcotics type methamphetamine. The total gross weight is 3,232 grams or 3.2 kilograms," said the Chief of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police, Police Grand Commissioner Edwin Hatorangan Hariandja, Friday (10/22/2021).

The Chief of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police explained that the disclosure of the methamphetamine case began with information regarding the delivery of narcotics from Eastern Indonesia to Jakarta by air.

"We released the disclosure of drugs in the form of methamphetamine. So, this activity is the result of an investigation by the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police, where there was information about smuggling via air transportation to Eastern Indonesia," said the Chief of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police.

As for the disclosure, the police managed to arrest ARP at his residence in Buaran Indah, Tangerang District, Tangerang City.

Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police, Police Commissioner Attendant Nasrandi, said ARP was arrested with 3.2 kg of methamphetamine, packaged in 32 clear plastic wrappers.

According to him, the perpetrator got this methamphetamine from Aceh, and it will be circulated in an event at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara.

Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Police said that the suspect received a wage of IDR 25 million for every 1 kilogram of smuggling. Now, the suspect is in the custody of Soekarno-Hatta Airport City Resort Police Headquarters and charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) Subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty.

"From the results of the disclosure, we managed to save Indonesia's golden generation of 30 thousand to 35 thousand young people," he concluded.
