"Of the 34 Regional Police who continue to carry out actions and operations regarding acts of thuggery and extortion, the total for thuggery is 4,107 and for extortion there are 4,110 people," the Head of the Public Affairs Division of Public Affairs Division mentioned at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday (06/17).
A total of 3,710 people who carried out acts of thuggery were coached and the rest went into investigation process. Meanwhile, 3,903 perpetrators of illegal levies were coached and the rest were continued with the legal process.
According to the Head of General Information of Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police, those who are being prosecuted for committing extortion and threats that are troubling the community. Meanwhile, those are coached are given education and directed to work according to their duties and not to commit extortion again.
