Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. From the Seaport Interdiction Operation in Bakauheni Harbour, Lampung, Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police, through the Drugs Criminal Offences Directorate exposed four drugs cases in 2021.
Chief of General Information Agency of PR and Press Division of Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, stated that the Bakauheni Harbour - Merak Harbour route is the main drug transport route from Sumatra.
"There are 19 suspects arrested with one died due to resistance towards the officer", Chief of General Information Agency of PR and Press Division of Indonesian National Police said on Thursday (21/10/2021).
"There are 19 suspects with the evidence of 62.9 kg of amphetamine", Chief of General Information Agency of PR and Press Division of Indonesian National Police continued.
The Director of Drugs Criminal Offences of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police, Police Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan Siregar, said that his institution is cooperating with the Animal Police Directorate of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police, Lampung Regional Police, and South Lampung Departmental Police.
"We are involving sniffing dogs either in detecting vehicles or crossing people suspected bringing drugs", the Director of Drugs Criminal Offences of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
"The suspects are subjected to Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics and threatened by death sentences, life in prison or six-year minimum and 20-year maximum with a minimum fine of Rp1 billion and maximum Rp10 billion", Director of Drugs Criminal Offences of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
"They are also subjected to Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics, and threatened by death sentences, life in prison, or five-year minimum and 20-year maximum with a minimum fine of Rp800 million and maximum Rp8 billion", Director of Drugs Criminal Offences of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
