Manokwari people enraged and barricaded the road of Trikora Wosi, due to a racist post on Facebook that offended the Arfak Tribe in Manokwari, on Monday (28/2/2022).
Several posts offended the tribes that inhabit Manokwari, Arfak Mountains, and South Manokwari Regency. Enraged by the post, the residents of Manokwari barricaded the road in front of the Mansinam Dormitory in Amban since morning.
The protest spread even wider onto Trikora Wosi road.
Head of the West Papua Regional Police Public Relations Division, Commissioner Adam Erwindi, S.I.K., M.H., stated that at this time, his team is working on the report related to that racist post on Facebook.
"The police report has been received by the Manokwari Police, the Police are still working on the case," said the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police.
Commissioner Adam Erwindi, S.I.K., M.H., hope that the legal process will calm the anger of the masses.
Manokwari Police Chief AKBP Parisian Herman Gultom S.I.K., along with a number of Arfak intellectual figures such as ami DJ Saiba, Lasarus Indou are mediating the masses.
