East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief Orders Strict Actions on Thugs

inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Lotharia Latif, ordered his staff to take firm action against all acts of thuggery that occurred in the island-based province. Head of Public Relations of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Rishian Krisna B. said that the Regional Police Chief also ordered all ranks of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police not to compromise in taking action against thuggery.



The Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said that on Saturday (06/12) and Sunday (06/13) the ranks of Sub-Directorate III Jatanras, Director of General Crime Unit of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Profession and Security of the Indonesian National Police, and Directorate of Samapta of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police moved to carry out investigations and patrols at the Pelindo III Kupang and Shipping Container Port. Ships at Tenau Port, ASDP Bolok Port, and Oebobo Bus station, Kupang City. According to the Head of Public Relations, the crackdown is not only acts of thuggery, but also various unlawful acts related to illegal levies.



"Take firm action, don't compromise with thuggery and extortion in this area. That's why members of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police carried out investigations at ports and station in Kupang City and its surroundings," he explained.



The action is in accordance with the order of the National Police Chief through the Telegram Letter Number STR/138/VI/RES1.24/2021, dated June 7, 2021, regarding the eradication of street crimes. In various investigations and patrols, he said, nothing suspicious was found. Nevertheless, the police continue to patrol and investigate various acts of thuggery and extortion in East Nusa Tenggara.



The Head of Public Relations hopes that the community will help by immediately reporting to the police if they find certain groups or individuals committing acts of thuggery and extortion in the East Nusa Tenggara area.
