East Java Regional Police Inspect Mass Vaccination Event at Bhayangkara University Surabaya

The vaccination event in the Ubhara was conducted by vaccinators from the doctors in the Medicine and Health Agency of East Java Regional Police and attended by 1,000 students divided into four stages with 250 people for each stage.

Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta, explained that the mass vaccination, which also collaborated with Provincial Government, 5th/Brawijaya Military Region Command, and 2nd Fleet Commander, would be conducted simultaneously and in stages.

The community vaccination event for the students and lecturers aims to support government programmes and forming herd immunity in the campus neighbourhood. Therefore, this effort could accelerate Covid-19 handling.

Chief of East Java Regional Police also explained that the event is essential to everyone because it could create herd immunity in the Covid-19 mitigation.

"Even though vaccinated, I asked everyone to adhere to Health Protocols because Health Protocols is the main weapon against Covid, by wearing a face mask, keeping distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds, and avoiding unimportant activities", Police Inspector General Nico Afinta said.

Chief of Regional Police also asks the Ubhara students whose the family have not been vaccinated yet to register to Community Police and Armed Forces Unit or go to the nearest Police or Armed Forces station because they regularly conduct this programme.
