Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Gresik. East Java Regional Police hold a mass vaccination event targeting 900 fishers in Gresik, East Java. The Vaksinasi Merdeka (independence vaccination) event was held on a ship at Kroman Dock of Gresik on Tuesday (3/8/2021).
"Today, we and personnel of Directorate of Water and Air Police of East Java Regional Police and Gresik Departmental Police, supported by its Medicine and Health Agency, conducted Vaksinasi Merdeka, targeting 900 fishers and coastal communities", Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta at the Water and Police Unit of Gresik Departmental Police.
Chief of East Java Regional Police said that this vaccination event is held in commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day. Police also has open the registration for all unvaccinated people.
"This event would be continued until August 17. For people who have not been vaccinated yet, they are welcomed to register at the nearest Police station, such as in Water Police station, Gresik Departmental Police Headquarter, Sectoral Police stations, or our Community Development Unit and Community Armed Force Unit", he appeals.
Besides, the Chief of East Java Regional Police said that the fishers are quite happy with the easily accessed vaccination. "We saw that the fishers who live by the coast feel happy because they could be vaccinated and directly approached by the health workers at the docks or anchoring ships. I think this is important for us to be always in synergy in conducting vaccination", Nico added.
Chief of East Java Regional Police also gave social aid packages to fishers and coastal communities. He also made time to greet the queueing residents. Chief of Regional Police also reminds people to always adhere to Health Protocols even though vaccinated.
"Let's get vaccinated as our prevention of Covid-19 transmission. Afterwards, let's keep implementing Health Protocols such as wearing face masks, washing hands, keeping distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing activities", Chief of Regional Police encourages.
Chief of East Java Regional Police asked for support from all stakeholders to succeed in these vaccination events. "I thank all people who are coming. Thank you to all personnel who worked really well", he concluded.
